Anika Goel, a third-year graduate student in the IU Astronomy Department, joined the leadership board of the NASA Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) Science Interest Group (SIG) in August 2025. The AGN SIG brings together researchers across the community to discuss advances, challenges, and future directions in active galactic nuclei science.
As part of her leadership role, Anika helps organize the AGN SIG Talk Series, which features two complementary formats. The Spotlight Series highlights recent research advances in AGN science, with an emphasis on early-career researchers and interactive discussion. The Vision Series provides broader perspectives on the state of the field, encouraging community dialogue on open questions and future opportunities.
