Indiana University's Department of Astronomy
is proud to host WIYNFest - the 2nd annual WIYN Observatory celebration of
scientific and educational achievement. The University of Wisconsin,
Indiana University, Yale University, and the National Optical Astronomy
Observatory, partners in the WIYN Consortium, are presenting an afternoon of
popular talks on astronomy and education, on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26, 2002,
at Swain Hall West on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University.
WIYNFest is part of the Indiana University Department of Astronomy's October
Astrofest celebration. IU Astronomy has much to celebrate at the beginning
of the new Millennium -- a long, rich, history, a renewed and vigorous present,
and the promise of an exciting future. To celebrate two important events, the
reopening of a renovated Kirkwood Observatory and the 90th Birthday of Professor
Emeritus Frank K. Edmondson, the Department will be hosting a variety of events
for friends, alumni, the University community, and public. We hope you will be
able to share some or all of these festivities with us.
