HYDRA Concentricities Update
Please note: An update to the HYDRA concentricities is available on the WIYN
web page under documentation/Instrument manuals/hydra. This
update reflects the discovery of several blue fibers which will have to be
permanently removed from service along with one red fiber. I've updated the
concentricities file on Oatmeal and Almond as well.
Efforts are focused to uncover the cause, but it is proving to be
difficult to identify. We are asking the OA's to open the focal plane after each
field configuration to ensure that no fibers are left in a dangerous state after
configuration. This is an added overhead of course, but necessary until this
issue is resolved.
