What do the

- The REU at IU was an awesome adventure. Working
with Stella for the summer was fantastic. All of the Professors made
the time spent at IU a very educational and worthwhile experience.
The greatness of the "Rock 'n' Roll Chart" that was made while
observing on the 0.91m at Kitt Peak cannot be denied! The picnic at
Link Observatory was also a great time that brought the Physics REU
and the Astronomy REU together. The experience was topped off with a
trip to the AAS meeting in Atlanta in January 2004. I would highly
recommend attending IU for the summer REU to anyone who has a
serious interest in stellar astronomy and is looking to have a great
time! -- Danny Gibbs - University of Wyoming
- Attending IU's REU program last summer was the
highlight of my undergraduate career. I enjoyed working with Dr.
Honeycutt with cataclysmic variables, as that type of research is
not done at my own university. The best part of the experience was
the observing trip to Kiitt Peak, as well as meeting new friends.
The experience also taught me hands on data analysis and reduction,
both of which better prepare me for graduate school. I am now more
convinced than ever that graduate studies in astronomy is the best
path for me. - Doug Hoffman
