Fencing right-of-way reference chart

In descending order of precedence for right-of-way:
  1. derobement
    (deception of an attack on the blade)
  2. attacks on the blade
    (e.g. prise de fer, beat attack, etc.)
  3. point in line
  4. simple attack
  5. stop-hit in time
  6. compound attack
  7. stop-hit
  8. reprise or redoublement of the attack
Additionally, after an attack (of any sort) has been parried, the right-of-way is:
  1. immediate riposte
  2. remise of the parried attack
  3. delayed riposte
