Workshop on Infrared Astronomy for Teachers
Workshop participants will be trained in the use of a thermal IR camera that will be available for loan to qualified teachers. Participants will receive a $150 stipend and a valuable IR Teaching Kit for use in classrooms. Participants may also register for optional graduate credit with a fee. Lunches included. Optional Continuing Renewal Units and graduate credit available. Presented by the IU Astronomy Department and the School of Education. The support of the Spitzer Science Center and NASA and the National Science Foundation for this summer workshop is gratefully acknowledged. Registration InformationPre-register for The Universe in the Infrared by June 1. Late registrations will be accepted on a space available basis. Print and fill out the registration form and mail to: IR Astronomy Workshop at IU Maximum number of participants: 15 teachers. In order to support all schools, preference will be given to one teacher from each high school. Additional spaces will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be notified in early June regarding your participation. LodgingFor out-of-town participants, several choices are available for lodging. If you would like a roommate let us know.
