Application deadlines are December 1 for International and January 15 for Domestic

Graduate School Checklist for Domestic Applicants

  • Application Form [online] [paper] ( There is a $50 application fee*)
  • At least 3 letters of recommendation [recommendation form]
  • Transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate courses
  • General and Subject GRE scores

*The University Graduate School participates in several programs designed to expand participation of underrepresented minority groups in graduate education. Qualified prospective student applicants who apply through the Committee for Institutional Cooperation (CIC) FreeApp Program may receive a waiver of their University Graduate School application fee. Further information is available at the IU Graduate School admissions website and an application form is available from the CIC website.

Graduate School application for International Applicants

International students may apply online just like domestic students.

Note: International students who have not previously attended Indiana University and are applying by means of a paper application form to a program on the Bloomington campus are required to use special forms available from the Office of International Admissions.
